Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce
Strengthening Nigeria-Japan Economic Relations Since 1995
Connecting Businesses. Creating Opportunities. Driving Growth.
The Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce was born from passion and vision in 1995, founded with an unwavering commitment to promote and expand trade between Nigeria and Japan. Inspired by Japan’s iconic business excellence and driven by the belief that both nations could achieve remarkable prosperity through strategic partnerships, we embarked on a journey to bridge two dynamic economies across continents.
As one of Nigeria’s oldest bilateral chambers of commerce, we have witnessed and participated in the evolution of Nigeria-Japan trade relations. We’ve celebrated successes, navigated challenges, and learned that executing a vision requires more than dreaming it. Through Nigeria’s economic difficulties, we remained committed to our core mission, and today we proudly announce: we are back, stronger and better than ever.
Our renaissance coincides with Nigeria’s remarkable economic recovery – from achieving historic $20 billion in diaspora remittances to earning IMF and World Bank endorsements for economic reforms. This is not just our comeback; it’s our moment to lead the future of Nigeria-Japan bilateral trade.

WORD FROM THE PRESIDENT
MANDYKING E. IJOMA President of Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce.
In 1995, inspired by Japan’s business excellence, the speaker founded a Chamber to foster Nigeria-Japan trade. Despite past economic challenges in Nigeria, the Chamber is revitalized, buoyed by Nigeria’s $20 billion in diaspora remittances and positive IMF/World Bank endorsements. With renewed partnerships and 2025 initiatives like business delegations and Osaka Expo participation, the Chamber invites members to join this transformative moment, emphasizing the urgency of seizing current opportunities.
Join us. Let’s build the future of Nigeria-Japan trade together.
WORD FROM THE EXECUTIVE SECRETARY
Dr. Jude E. MBONU Executive Secretary, of Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce.
The Nigeria-Japan Chamber of Commerce, established in 1995, welcomes members, partners, and the business community to its online office. After a period of reduced activity due to Nigeria’s economic challenges since 2015, the Chamber is revitalizing under the Tinubu government’s reforms, which have boosted the economy, including a historic $20 billion in diaspora remittances and IMF/World Bank support. Trade between Nigeria and Japan, currently at $10 billion with 51 Japanese companies in Nigeria, is set to grow with efforts to increase Nigerian companies in Japan. Dr. Jude E. Mbonu, the Executive Secretary with prior experience at the Japanese Embassy, pledges to enhance bilateral trade and keep members informed, under the leadership of President Mandyking E. Ijoma.
